Leeds United are said to be interested in signing Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster on loan next season if the Reds are willing to loan him out for another season according to Football Insider.

Brewster is currently on loan with Championship side Swansea City, and has been impressive, having notched up four goals in total for Steve Cooper's side in all competitions this term.

He'll return to Anfield at the end of this year's campaign, but it remains to be seen as to whether he'll be sent out on loan again the following season or not.

Leeds are reportedly interesting in landing his signature on loan as well, although they're likely to be faced with stiff competition from other teams.

The Whites are currently sat top of the Championship table, and will be confident that they can make a long-awaited promotion back into the Premier League under the guidance of Marcelo Bielsa.

We look at TWO reasons why Leeds are making a smart move in plotting a transfer swoop for Brewster in the summer.

He's a player that will be keen to prove a point at a high level.

Brewster's loan spell with Swansea City is his first away from Anfield, and he's certainly made a positive impression with the Swans in the Championship.

He has netted four goals in 11 appearances for Steve Cooper's side, and he'll be itching to prove a point to Jurgen Klopp as the season heads towards a conclusion.

It seems highly unlikely that he'll be playing regularly with Liverpool next season, and if he was to move out on loan to Leeds, then he'll be hungry to prove himself in senior football with Marcelo Bielsa's side.

He could be a smart signing for the Whites, and would certainly suit their style of play.

Leeds could benefit from additional quality up-front.

Marcelo Bielsa isn't exactly blessed with options in attack at this moment in time. The Whites currently only have Patrick Bamford (pictured above) and Jean-Kevin Augustin as his recognised senior options.

But Bielsa's style of football has sometimes been criticised, as the high-intensity pressing that is demanded of his players has caused various injury problems at times this term.

Therefore, it would make sense for the club to target another striker in the summer transfer window, and Brewster could be the ideal player to play his part for the Yorkshire-based side.
