Marcelo Bielsa continued his charge to the Premier League with Leeds United at the weekend with a 2-1 win against Queens Park Rangers at Elland Road.

Although they remained one point behind table-toppers Norwich City, they pulled five points clear of third-placed Sheffield United, making the chances of a promotion win seem all the more real.

But, with the January transfer window approaching, the Argentinian will be keen to give his side an edge in the second half of the season and Senegalese striker Mbaye Diagne is one man attracting attention.

The striker has expressed an interest in playing in England, which has caught the attention of Leeds but, according to Turkish outlet Cumhuriyet, they will have to part with £18m.

One person at the club who will probably not be too pleased with the reported interest in the striker is the Whites' top scorer Kemar Roofe, who scored his ninth and tenth goals against the R's on Saturday.

Here are TWO reasons why he will be annoyed...

There is absolutely no need for a new striker at Leeds.

Roofe has been in brilliant form this season and with the likes of Patrick Bamford and Tyler Roberts also proving their quality in flashes, it is not a position they need to strengthen.

He will be as aware as anyone of the frailties in defence and if he is let down by the backline it will undoubtedly annoy him.

It could be interpreted as a lack of faith.

Roofe has improved massively under Bielsa and become one of the league's most deadly strikers, but the hunt for the £18m Diagne hints that the Argentinian may not think he is quite good enough.

Perhaps he has one eye on the Premier League already.
