Huddersfield Town have started life under Danny Cowley's guidance strongly, with the former Lincoln City boss guiding the Terriers out of the relegation places in recent weeks.

They now sit 21st in the Championship table, and will be hoping that they can make it three wins in a row this weekend when they take on Blackburn Rovers.

So, it's clear to see that Cowley has made a positive impact with the Terriers, which is even more impressive given that the 40-year-old hasn't made wholesale changes to his starting XI since arriving.

One player that continues to be frozen out of the first team picture this season though is Collin Quaner, with the forward being restricted to just two substitute appearances in their league campaign to date.

Quaner spent last year's campaign on loan with Ipswich Town, where he scored four league goals for the Tractor Boys but was unable to stop them from being relegated into League One.

He could be tempted to push for a move elsewhere in the New Year, especially if he continues to be left out of Cowley's plans heading towards the festive period.

We look at TWO reasons why Huddersfield Town must look to move Quaner on in the January transfer window.

Danny Cowley has better options available to him.

The majority of Huddersfields's squad from the Premier League stayed with the club this season, so it meant that Quaner was likely to find opportunities hard to come by.

The likes of Karlan Grant and Steve Mounie are likely to be ahead of the 28-year-old in the pecking order at the moment, even though the latter is yet to make a league start himself.

Fraizer Campbell arrived in the summer, and has started more games than Quaner already, so the writing is seemingly on the wall for out of favour striker.

His record in English football isn't good enough.

When Quaner first arrived at Huddersfield, there were high-hopes that he could be the striker the Terriers needed to score goals on a consistent basis.

But for one reason or another, he just hasn't hit those targets, both in the Premier League and the Championship.

Quaner failed to score at all in the Premier League, and scored a combined total of just seven goals in two seasons with Huddersfield and a loan spell at Ipswich Town in the Championship.

Danny Cowley has better options available to him this season, and will surely be tempted to move Quaner on at the earliest of opportunities.
