Loftus Road is the venue on Saturday afternoon when Queens Park Rangers take on Brentford in the Championship.

Matchday 17 sees the continuation of second-tier football ahead of a two-week break to accommodate the next round of international fixtures.

With this the last scheduled match before the fortnight away from domestic football, both sides will be doing all they can to enter the hiatus with all three points.

Steve McClaren's side comes into the fixture on the back of the boss winning the Sky Bet Championship manager of the month award.

Thomas Frank, meanwhile, oversaw his maiden win as Brentford boss when they recorded their first victory in nine games last weekend.

Ahead to the fixture between the two sides, Sky Sports has enlisted the help of David Prutton to give his expert opinion on the outcome of this match.

The EFL presenter and pundit believes the match between the two sides will end in a narrow 2-1 win for the Hoops in this weekend’s London derby.

It will no doubt be a competitive match, as are most in the second-tier.

And, with that said, here are two reasons why Prutton’s QPR v Brentford prediction is going to be wrong.

On the infrequent occasion, the winner of the Manager of the Month wins their next match, but invariably, the curse hits most of the men who receive the award.

Steve McClaren picked up the award for an unbeaten October, but they lost last week before the announcement.

Now in possession of the award, QPR could well be hit with the curse it apparently possesses, and that could be a reason that David Prutton’s prediction is going to be wrong.

Brentford picked up their first win in nine matches last weekend in part one of their London derby double-headers.

And based on previous meetings between the two sides, Brentford have the edge.

The Bees have won four of the last six meetings in all competitions and are unbeaten at Loftus Road in their previous three visits.

If the stats are anything to go by, then David Prutton has got this prediction severely wrong.
