The Bet365 Stadium is the venue on Saturday afternoon when Stoke City host Birmingham City in the Championship.

Matchday 13 sees the resumption of second-tier football after a two-week break to accommodate the latest round of international fixtures.

With those out the way, domestic football takes centre stage once more.

Gary Rowett’s men currently sit 14th in the division on 15 points having won three of their last six fixtures including their previous two in a row.

Birmingham, meanwhile, are two places and two points behind than their opponents, having drawn four of their last six matches, winning twice.

Ahead to the fixture between the two sides, Sky Sports has enlisted the help of David Prutton to give his verdict on the outcome of this match.

The EFL presenter and pundit believes that both sides will finish the match all-square with the outcome being a 1-1 draw.

It will no doubt be a competitive match, as are most in the second-tier.

But, with that said, here are two reasons why Prutton’s Stoke v Birmingham prediction will be correct.

Birmingham have drawn the most amount of matches in the league this season - a staggering eight from their first 12 matches.

Garry Monk’s side are hard to break down but also have trouble doing the same to their opponents.

Being as they are on the road this weekend, a more defensive set up could be in operation which will mean Stoke will have to come at them and try and break the Blues down.

And that could be a source of frustration to the home support.

On paper, David Prutton’s prediction looks like it is going to be accurate.

With the heightened expectation on his side, Gary Rowett’s men might struggle to cope with that like that have done during the early stages of the season.

Stoke have turned a corner slightly and have won their last two matches, but if Birmingham set up to frustrate the hosts, then it could be a worrying afternoon for Stoke who struggle to create chances at times.

With all that mixed together there doesn’t look to be a clear winner this weekend.
