Villa Park is the venue on Saturday afternoon when Aston Villa take on Swansea City in the Championship.

Matchday 13 sees the resumption of second-tier football after a two-week break to accommodate the latest round of international fixtures.

With those out the way, domestic football takes centre stage once more.

Dean Smith will be making his managerial bow for his boyhood club tomorrow, and they currently sit 15th in the division on 15 points having failed to win any of their last four fixtures.

Swansea, meanwhile, are four places and two points better off than their opponents but having lost last time out, will be hoping to spoil Smith’s debut and get just their second win in six games.

Ahead to the fixture between the two sides, Sky Sports has enlisted the help of David Prutton to give his verdict on the outcome of this match.

The EFL presenter and pundit believes that Smith will win in his first game in charge of Aston Villa, seeing off Swansea 3-1

It will no doubt be a competitive match, as are most in the second-tier.

But, with that said, here are two reasons why Prutton’s Aston Villa v Swansea prediction is suspect.

The feel-good factor is back at Villa Park after the appointment of Dean Smith.

But he has yet to manage his new side, and his style of play will take longer to implement than just two weeks on the training pitch.

David Prutton, as well as many others, have been swept up in the hype of Smith to Villa, but there is no immediate fix for their current concerns.

It will take longer than what has passed, which makes the nature of David Prutton’s prediction a little suspect, in terms of the overall scoreline.

Graham Potter’s men have only conceded nine goals in 12 matches.

They don’t score loads either, but they have a base to build on having the third best defence in the league.

Villa have only won by two clear goals on two occasions this season and with the Swans defence not likely to leak this weekend, that makes David Prutton’s prediction a little naive.
