Reading look to have turned a corner, pulling themselves out of the bottom three with a run of form that betters Leeds United in fourth.

They've won two, lost two and drawn one of their last five games, whilst Marcelo Bielsa's side have lost two, drawn two and won one. They're at contrasting ends of the table, but the signs are there that Reading might have found a formula to success.

One of their defeats were not surprising, West Brom were always likely to beat them at the Hawthorns. Perhaps they would be disappointed losing to QPR but, they've since shown resilience.

Paul Clement's men have been scoring goals though, leading to the 3-0 win against Hull City and the critical six-pointer against Millwall this weekend which they won 3-1.

In amongst that, the 2-2 draw with Brentford was another good result and has perhaps seen the rays of sunshine begin to peep through the clouds of despair at the Madejski.

This evening they're on their travels, up to Birmingham to face Garry Monk's side, themselves exceeding expectations in 12th.

It promises to be an engrossing tie, one which we think reading might sneak a result in thanks to these two reasons.

Reading are scoring goals and where's the goals, there's always a chances.

They're not relying on one player, Baldock, Meite and Bodvarsson are all chipping in, which is giving them a real chance of ascending the division.

Birmingham are unbeaten in nine, which is a testament to how resolute they can be, but they don't keep a lot of clean sheets.

Lee Camp has been a solid presence at the back, but they're still leaking goals. Only once in the last five games have they kept the opposition out and again, that is something the Royals can take heart from.
