Marcelo Bielsa sprung a surprise in the Leeds starting XI when they faced Blackburn Rovers at the weekend - starting both Tyler Roberts and the returning Kemar Roofe.

But they weren't partnered up front together, with Bielsa naming Roofe to start at right-midfield, many Leeds fans would have been questioning the Argentine's decision to play Roberts as a striker, instead of the in-form Roofe.

Roofe was substituted after 71 minutes as Leeds fell to a narrow 2-1 defeat to Tony Mowbray's side in what would have been a disappointing result for Leeds, who would have looked to close the gap on Sheffield United who dropped points against Derby.

With Roberts failing to score again for the Whites, it has raised questions about his starting position in Bielsa's side ahead of Kemar Roofe, who will feel he should be starting ahead of the former West Brom youngster in the striking position for their clash against Ipswich Town on Wednesday.

We look at why Marcelo Bielsa could be tempted to drop Roberts from the starting XI on Wednesday.

Find out those reasons here....

When Tyler Roberts arrived at Elland Road from West Brom, many Leeds fans would have had high hopes for the 19-year-old who was considered a bright prospect at the Baggies.

But with Roberts scoring just three times in this early stage of the season, many Leeds fans are likely to want to see the return of Kemar Roofe who was in the form of his career before his injury blow.

With Roofe likely to return to the side this week, Roberts will be keen to make more of an impact in his next run in the side, having not taken this opportunity to the best of his ability in recent weeks.

One positive that Leeds fans will have taken from the defeat to Blackburn at the weekend will have been the return of Kemar Roofe and Pablo Hernandez to Marcelo Bielsa's side.

The pair have been in excellent form before injury ruled them out for a number of games, and Leeds started to struggle for results after the pair were ruled out.

So you can expect to see the duo start in Leeds' clash with Ipswich in midweek, after getting some much-needed match fitness in their defeat to Blackburn at the weekend, and Roberts could make way for one of the returning players.
