Rotherham United have made a strong start to life back in the Championship – going unbeaten and taking five points from their first three games.

The Millers have secured draws with both Swansea City and Preston North End but their most impressive result came against Reading on the weekend as they beat the Royals 4-0 at the New York Stadium.

Paul Warne's side have been relegated in each of their last three seasons at Championship level – a record he'll be determined to put an end to this term.

Doing so would be a fantastic achievement given the Yorkshire club's budget is tiny in comparison to many of the clubs in the second tier.

That's not to say Warne won't be hoping to do a bit of late-window business, though, and with that in mind, here are two realistic signings the Millers should make before the September 1st deadline...

Brooke Norton-Cuffy

With Peter Kioso sidelined for 10 weeks due to a groin injury, the Rotherham boss has confirmed that he will look to strengthen at right wing-back before the window closes.

Arsenal 18-year-old Brooke Norton-Cuffy should be a player the Millers target on loan as they look to solve their depth issue on the right flank.

Norton-Cuffy's new contract at the Emirates has recently been confirmed while The Athletic's David Ornstein has suggested that he could now be sent out on loan to the Championship.

The defender showed his qualities going forward for Lincoln City last season, with his lightning pace and marauding runs not dissimilar to Djed Spence, who starred for Nottingham Forest in the second tier last term.

He's still quite raw but as a depth option, the teenager could be a very shrewd signing indeed.

William Osula

Seven goals in four games represents an impressive start to the season in the final third but Warne has revealed he is looking to add a little more forward firepower before the window closes.

Sheffield United teenager William Osula can offer them that and is a player that the Millers are interested in, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

They face competition from Burton Albion but may be able to convince the Blades that Championship football is the best thing for him.

Osula's pace would offer Rotherham another dimension in attack while with Tom Eaves and Josh Kayode out injured, the Yorkshire club could certainly use the numbers.

On a limited budget, the Millers may have to be a bit creative and a move for the young Blades forward may work well.
