Derby County have endured a difficult start to the Championship season, losing three of their opening four league fixtures.

Whilst it's far too early to make any judgements, the performances and results have shown that the Rams are short in certain areas, which won't have come as a shock to many observers.

Boss Phillip Cocu didn't have the busy transfer window that he may have been anticipating but the club still have a chance to rectify that ahead of Friday's domestic deadline.

Here we look at TWO realistic targets Derby should go all-out for and explain how they can make the side genuine top six contenders...

Quiz: Do Nottingham Forest and Derby County have these 10 things in common?

Harry Wilson

With Jordon Ibe and Kamil Jozwiak out wide, some may argue that bringing Wilson on loan from Liverpool isn't needed.

However, there needs to be more depth behind those two and the chance to land a player of Wilson's calibre is an opportunity you need to take.

Derby know more than most just how talented the Welsh international is after his fine year at Pride Park under Frank Lampard and he backed that up by scoring seven goals for relegated Bournemouth in the top-flight last season.

So, he has undoubted ability and the Rams must to do all they can to ensure they win the race for his signature.

Kenneth Zohore

Perhaps the most pressing issue in Derby's squad is the lack of a target man up top as the club have failed to replace Chris Martin.

So, reports suggesting Cocu wants Zohore are encouraging as the West Brom outcast is exactly what the team needs.

He can lead the line, he can bring others into play and he would be the ideal focal point for the way the Dutch coach wants to play. A deal seems possible and it would be a smart bit of business.
