Reading are seemingly set to move to complete the signing of 23-year-old midfielder Felipe Araruna this week, with the Royals said to be keen on tying up a loan deal for the ball winning midfielder.

According to Courtney Friday of the Reading Chronicle via Twitter, the 23-year-old could potentially end his current loan spell with Fortaleza in favour of a move to the Madejski Stadium this month.

The Brazilian midfielder has made a total of 11 appearances for the north eastern Brazil side, with their player often being deployed as a defensive midfielder in front of the defence.

The Sao Paulo man's skill set certainly fits the bill for a Reading side who are seeking to solidify their defensive play in the centre of the park whilst also adding depth to what is an already talented squad.

Here, we take a look at TWO Reading players who could be negatively affected by the addition of Felipe Araruna....

Andy Rinomhota

The hard working midfielder has recently fallen out of favour under Mark Bowen and could potentially be negatively affected by the arrival of Araruna this month.

Having previously been in good form, Rinomhota could now face the possibility of slipping even further down the pecking order at the Berkshire club after falling behind Pele.

The Leeds born midfielder was previously linked with a move to Elland Road, however those rumours have recently died down after the 22-year-old fell out of favour.

In the meantime, Rinomhota faces a fight on his hands to regain his starting spot from the likes of Pele and John Swift.

Charlie Adam

The veteran midfielder only moved to the club during the summer and could now be set for an extended spell on the sidelines for the Royals if Bowen brings in Araruna this month.

Adam is approaching his latter years as a professional, with the former Liverpool man having seemingly gone off the boil in recent years.

He was essentially bought in as a rotation option by the club's former boss Jose Gomes and could potentially see his game time limited even further by the arrival of a new midfielder this month.

With only nine starts to his name this season, Adam could well depart the club during the summer after failing to really nail down a starting place at the club.
