Queens Park Rangers will be looking to back up their recent victory over West Bromwich Albion when they face Coventry City in the Championship this afternoon.

Charlie Austin netted what turned out to be the winning goal for the R's last weekend in the dying embers of their showdown with the Baggies.

Currently fourth in the second-tier standings, the R's could potentially close the gap between them and the automatic promotion places if they seal all three points in today's showdown with Coventry.

However, when you consider that the Sky Blues have only lost three league games at the Coventry Building Society Arena this season, QPR know that they will need to be at their very best in order to secure a positive result on their travels.

Having witnessed his side's display against West Brom, it will be interesting to see whether QPR boss Mark Warburton opts to make any alterations to his team today.

Here, we have decided to take a look at TWO selection dilemmas Warburton is facing ahead of this particular fixture...

Should Austin be handed a start in this fixture?

Introduced as a substitute during the club's clash with West Brom last weekend, Austin made an instant impact for his side as he scored the winning goal against his former team.

Having provided three direct goal contributions in his last five league appearances for the Hoops, the forward will fancy his chances of adding to his overall tally against Coventry if he is given the nod to start by Warburton.

In order to maintain the balance of his team, the QPR boss will need to drop Lyndon Dykes or Andre Gray for Austin.

When you consider that Dykes has not managed to find the back of the net in the Championship since October, he may make way for his team-mate this afternoon.

Will Dominic Ball be handed the chance to showcase his ability in this clash?

After featuring regularly for QPR during the opening stages of the 2021/22 campaign, Dominic Ball has recently fallen out of favour at the club.

The midfielder made his return to league action last weekend after being forced to watch on from the bench for the club's clashes with Bristol City, Birmingham City, Stoke City and Derby County.

Having made 101 appearances in the Championship during his career, Ball knows exactly what it takes to compete at this level and thus will be confident in his ability to deliver the goods today if he is called upon by Warburton.

Whilst Stefan Johansen and Sam Field are expected to keep their places in QPR's starting eleven, Ball could potentially force his way into contention for a place in the side in the coming weeks by producing an eye-catching cameo display against Coventry.
