Queens Park Rangers are set for somewhat of a reset this summer.

After falling away at the back half of the 2021/22 campaign, the R's missed out on a Championship play-off place by some margin, finishing the season sitting 11th in the league standings.

Boss Mark Warburton departed the club as a result, along with several first-team players that the R's announced would be released upon the expiry of their current contracts next month.

The search for their new boss goes on, meanwhile, transfer rumours are beginning to swirl.

As a result, here, we've picked out two QPR players that could face an uncertain few weeks ahead with the transfer window set to open soon.

Macauley Bonne

One player that could certainly be deemed as facing an uncertain few weeks is returning forward Macauley Bonne.

Bonne joined QPR in 2020, but after scoring just three goals in 34 appearances in his first season with the R's, was loaned down to League One for 2021/22.

At Ipswich, Bonne did okay, scoring 12 in 43 League One appearances.

With a new boss set to be in charge, it could be that the 26-year-old is given another chance to impress at Loftus Road, or, it could be the case that he is moved on permanently this summer if the new boss doesn't fancy him.

With one year left on his current deal, QPR may choose to cash in this summer if he is deemed surplus to requirements.

Jordy de Wijs

Another player facing an uncertain future with the club as the summer transfer window approaches is centre-back Jordy de Wijs.

The 27-year-old spent the second half of the season on loan in the 2. Bundesliga with Fortuna Dusseldorf, and is well down the pecking order at Loftus Road.

Yoann Barbet, Rob Dickie, and Jimmy Dunne were ahead of the former Dutch youth international at Loftus Road this season, and with Conor Masterson set to return to the club after a season where he made 34 appearances out on loan in League One, de Wijs could be pushed even further down the pecking order.

It will ultimately be the new boss' call on what de Wijs' future holds, and as such, the defender faces an uncertain few weeks ahead as the club seek their appointment.
