Queens Park Rangers resume their Championship campaign this weekend when they make the trip to Lancashire to take on Bolton Wanderers.

Steve McClaren’s men have had a dismal start to the new campaign, currently third-bottom with one win and one draw in their opening six league fixtures.

A two-week break from the league with the international break coming at the right time for the London side, they will be looking to regroup and pick up their recent poor form.

This season has not started well, and there could be several underlying factors as to why the Loftus Road club be enduring a current downturn in fortunes.

It has been a tough time for the Rs since relegation and the club struggling to make their mark in the Championship this term.

With that said, we here at FLW look at two decisions that Queens Park Rangers have made that could come back to haunt the club.

The best cases of adding youth into a side is drip feeding them in and getting them playing with the senior professionals, to get them up to speed and understanding their roles and how first-team men's football operates.

They way Queens Park Rangers have gone about it, isn’t conducive to bedding in young players to alow them to feel relaxed.

Throwing several in at the deep end could come back to haunt the Rs who are battling relegation this term.

The pressure might toll for some of Steve McClaren’s younger players should things go from bad to worst.

After the removal of Ian Holloway from his managerial position at Loftus Road, the club appointed Steve McClaren as their new boss.

This could be a decision that could come back to haunt the London side.

McClaren is somewhat of a footballing dinosaur and since a stint in Holland with FC Twente, has failed to deliver any kind of success to any of the clubs he has managed.

Time will tell, of course, but the decision to appoint the failed England manager could be a potentially catastrophic one should the club be relegated.
