News has recently emerged that if Queens Park Rangers are to lose their game against Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon, then Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink will be removed from his position as manager, and will reportedly be replaced by Tim Sherwood.

The former Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa manager has been out of a job for just over a year now, but it has been reported that the London club will look to bring him in as new manager, if they are defeated by the Reds on Saturday.

The R's are placed 14th in the Championship table after 15 games, winning five times, drawing four times, and losing 6 times, with Hasselbaink under extreme pressure.

However, there are mixed emotions flowing around Loftus Road on the potential arrival of the man who led Aston Villa to the FA Cup final and steered them away from relegation in 2015.

So here, FLW writer George Harbey identifies TWO PROS and TWO CONS to Queens Park Rangers appointing Tim Sherwood as manager...

PRO 1 - Premier League experience

There is no doubt in my mind that the Loftus Road faithful want nothing more than a return to the top flight this term, after finishing in a disappointing midtable position last time around.

And when it comes to Premier League experience and expertise, then the R's should look no further than the man who took Spurs agonisingly close to the Champions League places in the 2013/14 campaign, after taking over from Andre Villas-Boas halfway through the season.

And he worked his magic once again with the Villans, steering them away from relegation whilst also taking them to Wembley in the 2014/15 campaign.

If he took to the R's back up to the Premier League, he has more than enough experience in his locker to keep the Rangers up and make them a solid top flight side.

CON 1 - Lack of Championship experience

Sherwood

It's all well and good having Premier League experience in abundance when you are actually in the top flight, but having Championship experience is a different story completely.

The Championship is a completely different environment, it is much tougher and gruelling in stages, and most importantly something that Sherwood has yet to experience in his managerial career.

This seems to be the biggest worry for QPR fans, and maybe a more sensible option needs to be considered.

PRO 2 - His managerial record is quite impressive

Football - Tottenham Hotspur v West Ham United

Sherwood has managed 56 games for both Spurs and Villa, and has accumulated a 43% win ratio, which equals 24 wins in 56 games.

That for a manager at any level is quite impressive compared to Hasselbaink who has a 28% win ratio as manager of the R's, winning just 13 times in 46 games at the helm.

If Sherwood can drill in the consistency and spirit he installed at his previous clubs, QPR could really turn their season round and turn out to be a real threat this term.

CON 2 - He is quite controversial

After recent allegations surrounding Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and the FA, the controversy that Sherwood brings isn't ideal for QPR.

Sherwood was involved in many arguments at Spurs and Aston Villa, that both culminated in the downfall of his jobs.

What QPR need is stability, in order to progress and push up to the top flight in the next year, something that Sherwood cannot guarantee.

So...What do you think QPR fans? Would Tim Sherwood be a good or bad appointment? Does Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink need more time? Who else would you like to see as manager? Leave your suggestions and thoughts in the comments below!
