With Leeds United aiming to banish the memories of their capitulation at the end of the 2018/19 campaign next season, it is not at all surprising that Marcelo Bielsa has already been linked with a move for one of the club's former heroes this summer.

According to trusted West Ham United insider EXWHUEmployee (as quoted by Hammer.News), the Whites are reportedly interested in signing Robert Snodgrass on loan from the Irons as they look to strengthen their wide options during the transfer window.

If this is indeed true, manager Marcelo Bielsa must consider both the positives and the negatives that the Scotland international could have on the club's fortunes over the next 11 months before committing to a deal.

Keeping this in mind, we have set out two pros as well as two cons based on Snodgrass' career to date.

Check them out below...

Pros

He has an excellent track record in the Championship

With an excellent track record of producing the goods in the Championship, Snodgrass could turn out to be a fantastic addition to Bielsa's squad if they can convince him to make the switch to West Yorkshire.

Although currently plying his trade in the Premier League, the winger demonstrated that he can still be a menace in the second-tier during an incredibly fruitful 2017/18 campaign at Aston Villa where he fired in eight goals and provided 13 assists for his team-mates.

If he can replicate this kind of form for Leeds next season, they could very well be celebrating promotion in 2020.

He could form a deadly relationship with the club's forwards

Known for his magnificent qualities in wide areas, Snodgrass could end up forming a fruitful partnership with the likes of Patrick Bamford and Kemar Roofe during the upcoming campaign if he is on-song for Leeds.

Whereas it could be argued that the Whites became a bit too reliant on Pablo Hernandez to provide the creativity in midfield last season, the arrival of Snodgrass could help relieve some of the pressure that has been put on the Spaniard.

Cons

There is no guarantee that he will be able to repeat the successes of his first spell at Leeds

Despite being utterly sublime during his first spell with Leeds between 2008 and 2012, there is no guarantees that Snodgrass will be able to produce the same standard of play if he does indeed return to Elland Road.

Edging ever closer to the twilight of his career, the 31-year-old may end up tarnishing his legacy with the Whites by failing to end their lengthy hiatus from the Premier League next season.

Signing him could end up hampering the development of the club's youth players

With the likes of Jack Clarke and Mallik Wilks both looking to establish themselves as regular starters next season, they may instead have to watch on from the sidelines if Snodgrass joins this summer as he will almost certainly be one of the first names on Bielsa's team-sheet.

Whereas making this decision could bring short-term success for Leeds, they could end up stagnating the careers of two of their brightest young prospects in the process which would, in turn, send out a worrying message to the rest of their academy players.
