Barnsley are reportedly interested in signing Leeds United’s Alex Mowatt, reports Phil Hay from his personal twitter account.
Following the sale of Conor Hourihane to Aston Villa earlier today, Barnsley are on the lookout for a midfield replacement.
Mowatt featured from the bench during Leeds’ 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest last night, but chances from the start have been rare this season.
Limited to just seven starts across all competitions, 21-year old Mowatt could be on the move this January, particularly with his contract running out in the summer.
Mowatt has made over 100 appearances for the Leeds first-team since his debut in 2013, but with Garry Monk’s side currently flying high in the Sky Bet Championship, Mowatt has struggled for game time.
