According to Football Insider, Leeds United are interested in making a move to sign Brentford goalkeeper Luke Daniels this summer, as Marcelo Bielsa's side look to form another push for promotion next season.

The Whites are yet to make a signing thus far this summer, but look set to add two new wingers to their ranks in Jack Harrison and Helder Costa, with Jack Clarke on the brink of moving to Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur.

And it looks as if Marcelo Bielsa could then look to bolster his options in between the sticks, with Brentford's Luke Daniels reportedly on the Argentine's radar ahead of the new season.

Both Kiko Casilla and Bailey Peacock-Farrell are facing uncertain long-term futures at Elland Road, with the latter recently insisting that he will look to leave the club if he cannot reclaim his spot in the starting line-up next term.

Casilla, since his move to Leeds from Real Madrid, has looked shaky in between the sticks for Bielsa's side, and with a return to Spain being mentioned, the addition of a new shot-stopper may be a priority.

Here, we take a look at two pros and two cons to Leeds signing Daniels...

Pro - Proven Championship experience

Daniels would be an upgrade on both Casilla and Peacock-Farrell based purely on experience in the EFL, especially in the Championship.

The experienced shot-stopper may have only made 19 appearances last season, but has made plenty of appearances for the likes of Scunthorpe and Tranmere.

Leeds fans will know how good of a goalkeeper he is after his eye-catching performance at Elland Road early on last season.

Pro - Potentially available for a cheap price

With only one year left on his contract at Griffin Park, Brentford have a tricky decision on their hands this summer.

Do they cash in on Daniels, or do they let his contract run down only for him to leave potentially on a free transfer next year?

After losing Daniel Bentley to Bristol City in recent times, the Bees may look to extend Daniels' contract, but with only one year left on his deal, a move could be very likely indeed.

Con - Potential unrest in the changing room

Of course, if Daniels was to arrive at Elland Road, then it would certainly affect the spirits of one or two players in the Leeds squad, especially Casilla and Peacock-Farrell.

The latter recently said that he may look to leave Leeds if he can't reclaim his place in the starting line-up, and the arrival of Daniels would only add more competition in between the sticks.

Bielsa cannot afford his squad to be feeling deflated or low in morale going into the new season.

Con - Better options out there?

Of course, Daniels is by no means the finished article, and at 31 years of age, you have to wonder whether there are better options out there for Leeds.

He hasn't played the greatest amount of games in the Championship in recent years, and you only have to look at promotion rivals such as Bristol City, to see that signing young, upcoming goalkeepers is now the norm.
