Cardiff City are in hot pursuit of Ronaldo Vieira, with the Leeds United ace emerging as a target for Neil Warnock.

Reports have suggested that Cardiff could test Leeds’ stance over Vieira with a £7m bid, as Warnock looks to strengthen his side ahead of their return to the Premier League next season.

Vieira has been a professional at Leeds for the last two seasons, playing an impressive role at Elland Road from central midfield.

The 19-year-old has made 71 appearances during his Leeds career, establishing himself in the first-team under three different head-coaches.

It’s expected that the England youth international will be part of Marcelo Bielsa’s plans, should Leeds avoid the temptation of selling the midfielder to Cardiff in the coming weeks.

Here at FLW, we take a look at Vieira’s potential sale, identifying TWO pros and TWO cons to the Whites moving him on…

£7m is ludicrously low, with Vieira worth far more than that.

He’s young, English and is most importantly, an excellent player.

If Leeds move him on, Radrizzani could pocket a huge fee.

Vieira is only going to get better, especially under Marcelo Bielsa.

Leeds sold Lewis Cook two years ago, with supporters now watching an ex-Elland Road favourite establish himself as a Premier League regular.

They can’t afford to make that mistake with Vieira.

If Leeds can afford to lose someone this summer, it is in central midfield.

Bielsa has a number of options, including Kalvin Phillips and Adam Forshaw.

Of course, they’d probably replace Vieira, but they have bodies to cope.

Many who have watched Vieira have tipped him to become a future England international – are they going to get that type of quality as a replacement?

It’s hard to see Leeds replacing Vieira with the right quality this summer.
