After Leeds United's failure to reach the top flight this season, it was always inevitable that Premier League clubs were going to come knocking for promising winger Jack Clarke.

According to the Mail, the winger has just been subject of a £10m bid from Tottenham Hotspur, and Leeds United face a huge battle to keep hold of the teenager, who has impressed many clubs after a successful season with Leeds.

Mauricio Pochettino is currently on the lookout for young English talent after guiding his side to a third place finish in the Premier League and this season's Champions League final. Jack Clarke and Jack Grealish are just two targets that the Spurs manager will be looking to bring to the Totttenham Hotpsur Stadium.

So, let's take a look at the pros and cons of Leeds selling Clarke to Champions League outfit Spurs...

Pro: It will give Leeds United extra resources

It's no secret that Leeds United will be looking to gain promotion next season after falling just short in their play-off semi-final against Derby County last week.

Financial Fair Play is something that The Whites will need to consider. If they do sell Clarke to Spurs for a sizeable fee, it would give the Yorkshire side 'wiggle' room to complete the deals that they need to, in order to have an even better chance of being promoted this year.

Not only would this fee for Jack Clarke be beneficial in the transfer department, it could allow Leeds United to improve their facilities or to donate money to the local community. Receiving a big fee could have a majorly positive impact on Leeds United.

Pro: There's no guarantee that he will make it, wise to cash in now?

Of course, there's no guarantee that Jack Clarke will end up fulfilling his potential. For a lot of clubs, it's about knowing the right time to sell. Is it the right time to sell Clarke now when he looks very promising? It could be the right time, as no one knows how the 18-year-old will progress throughout his career.

The winger's value will be based off his estimated potential, which right now, is very high.

United should be pushing for the highest fee they can get for Clarke.

Con: He was an important piece of the Bielsa jigsaw

Although Jack Clarke was not always the first name on the team sheet for Leeds United in the 2018/19 season, he still played a big part. Bielsa knew that he could always rely on the teenager to come off the bench and make an impact for the Yorkshire side.

One example of this is when he squared a ball for Pablo Hernandez to tap in at Bramall Lane back in December, after an error by Sheffield United keeper Dean Henderson. This looked like it might have been a crucial goal for Leeds United, who were in second place at the time. However, it turned out to be the home side that eventually went up instead of Leeds.

Despite this, it still shows how important that Jack Clarke could be next season, as well as how much he can bring to the table for the Elland Road side.

Con: His value might increase further if he develops well

Clarke is only 18 at this moment in time, being born in November 2000. If he develops to match his potential, his value could increase massively in the next few years.

According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur have made a £10m bid for the young winger to try and lure Clarke to North London. This is an attractive offer, but what if he develops rapidly in the next one or two seasons? His value could double, or even triple. Leeds could put a large sell on clause percentage in any deal for Clarke.

Alternatively, they could keep hold of the teenager for another season, reaping the benefits of his influential performances, whilst increasing his value more and more as time goes on.
