Fulham were very active in the transfer window this summer, with the club finalising the season-long loan moves for Southampton midfielder Harrison Reed and Cardiff City attacker Bobby Reid.

England youth international Josh Onomah also joined the club yesterday in a deal that saw Ryan Sessegnon move the other way to Champions League finalists Tottenham Hotspur.

Fulham have also lost another promising youngster this summer, with 16-year-old Harvey Elliott moving to Liverpool.

Although these downsides have tainted the relegated side's transfer window, they also made a few brilliant signings this summer. Premier League wingers Ivan Cavaleiro and Anthony Knockaert have both signed for the London club, with the view to permanent deals next summer.

Scott Parker will have to get off to a quick start in his first full season as a manager if he's to avoid the sack at Craven Cottage, with a huge weight of expectations on his shoulders as Fulham manager. The club will be looking to bounce straight back to the Premier League this season after their relegation.

Here are two pros and two cons to the Cottagers securing the deal for former Bristol City, and current Cardiff City, attacker Bobby Reid...

Pro: Low cost, low risk

This move is just a season-long loan move from Cardiff, which will be a relief to Fulham fans if this signing does not work out for the best. A low risk signing is exactly what the London side needs after spending a lot of money in the Premier League last summer.

After the signings of Anthony Knockaert and Ivan Cavaleiro, any other attacking signing was a bonus for manager Scott Parker and the supporters. They now have the attacking capable of winning Championship promotion.

Gaining promotion back to the Premier League could be financially vital for Fulham, who took a big gamble in signing big name players last summer. This is something that didn't work out and the club will need to be very wary of FFP.

Pro: Premier League experience, proven in the Championship

Reid has played over 100 games in the second tier of English football, a total which isn't too bad considering the amount of loan spells he has had in the lower tiers. This experience will give him the knowledge of exactly what's needed to excel in this division.

Last season, he also played in the Premier League for Cardiff City. Taking a step back down to the Championship could be quite easy for the English forward, after playing against some of the best players in the world in the past year.

All of this is exactly what Scott Parker needs in his squad if he's to achieve promotion back to the Premier League with Fulham in his first full season as a professional manager.

Con: Is his confidence shot?

He scored just 5 goals in 29 games for Cardiff City since he signed for the Bluebirds last summer. Although this total was in the Premier League, this is still quite a low total for a forward regardless and he will be looking to get more game time and goals with Fulham.

These lack of goals, as well as the relegation he now has on his CV, may not be what Fulham needs at this moment in time with the Cottagers also being relegated to the Championship along with Cardiff City.

It would be no surprise at all if his confidence has been shot to pieces over the past few months, being relegated and then shipped out on loan to another club. Parker will need good man management skills if he's to get the best out of Reid this season.

Con: Not a defensive reinforcement

Scott Parkerrrrrrrrrr

There's no doubt whatsoever that Fulham have the attacking players capable of winning promotion back to the Premier League.

A front three of Aleksandar Mitrovic, Anthony Knockaert and Ivan Cavaleiro has the ability to destroy any Championship defence. The reinforcements this summer in the attacking aspect of the squad have helped this.

Despite all this, there are still question marks over their defence. A team that has been relegated from the Premier League may need defensive signings, regardless of the calibre of their defenders. Confidence is key, a few new signings in that area would have helped that.

However, it looks like Fulham will be persevering with the defence that got them relegated from the Premier League last season.
