Stoke City are on the lookout for a new manager and Malmo boss Uwe Rosler is keen on taking over the struggling Championship side.

That's according to Stoke-On-Trent Live, who revealed that the ex-Leeds chief has made it clear that he would be interested in succeeding Nathan Jones.

The Potters hierarchy decided to get rid of Jones last week and defeat to West Brom last night has left the side six points from safety and bottom of the league ahead of a huge game against Barnsley on Saturday.

So, a quick appointment would be beneficial and here we look at TWO pros and TWO cons to the Staffordshire outfit bringing in Rosler...

He knows English football

Having worked with Brentford, Wigan, Leeds and Fleetwood in the past, as well as playing in the country, Rosler knows what English football is all about.

So, he won't be an untried novice stepping into a dire situation at Stoke, he will be fully prepared for a big job ahead.

And, there's no getting away from it, the Potters are in a relegation battle.

His sides can be hard to beat

Whilst he hasn't always got it right at clubs in England, when Rosler does get the team playing well they are extremely hard to beat.

That's been the case in Sweden, with his Malmo side conceding just 16 goals in 30 league games proving that they have a good structure and organisation - qualities the Stoke side are desperately lacking.

He hardly convinced in previous jobs

However, there are some concerns to Stoke potentially appointing Rosler. Firstly, he didn't convince at Leeds, even though he didn't get much time and the fact that was his biggest job here will be a worry.

Plus, he was sacked by Fleetwood in February 2018 after seven consecutive defeats. Considering Stoke's position, you could argue they need a safer pair of hands.

Malmo may make it hard to do a deal

Another issue for Stoke is that doing a deal may not be straightforward.

Malmo finished second in the league and will be preparing for the Europa League next season so they won't want to lose their manager who is under contract for another year.

Again, with the Potters situation, they need someone to come in immediately and they can't afford to waste time on trying to bring someone in who may not come.
