Fulham took the shock step on Wednesday morning and decided to sack their manager, Slavisa Jokanovic with the Londoners rock-bottom of the Premier League table.

Jokanovic had guided the club up the Championship over the past three seasons and finally achieved promotion back to the top-tier last season thanks to a 1-0 win against Aston Villa in the playoff final.

But now the 50-year-old will be on the hunt for a new job and a move back down into the Championship could well be his best bet.

One club who could well approach him in the not too distant future is Sheffield Wednesday.

Pressure has been mounting on Owls' boss Jos Luhukay for a few weeks now with the club sat in 17th place and with just one win in their last eight.

An admirable 0-0 draw with Sheffield United in the Steel City derby last weekend earned him a stay of execution but the pressure is certainly still there.

So should the Owls move for Jokanovic?

Here are two pros and two cons...

The Serbian has been promoted with every Championship club he has managed and there is no reason he could not do that again with Wednesday.

He seems to have been deemed not good enough for the top-flight but his second tier record is indisputable.

His sides in the past have always played brilliant, attacking football.

With the likes of Forestieri, Mattias and Bannan in the team with Gary Hooper and Sam Winnall set to return soon as well, they could have plenty of success under Jokanovic.

He has shown with Fulham this season that he is not the most defensively astute manager going.

One thing the Owls could desperately do with is somebody who can get them organised and make them hard to beat.

I doubt whether Jokanovic is that man.

A lot of his success has come through spending fair amounts of money.

Bringing in Odion Ighalo for £7million pushed Watford over the line in 2014/15 with the likes of Rui Fonte and Aboubakar Kamara arriving for over £5million at Fulham.

That is something he won't be able to do with Wednesday thanks to their precarious financial situation.
