Derby County are expected to be active in the January window as boss Phillip Cocu looks to make the necessary additions to help their play-off push.

However, as well as targeting players who can come in to improve the XI, it appears as though the Rams have one eye on the future.

That's after the Scottish Sun claimed the East Midlands outfit, along with fellow Championship side Leeds, have joined the race for 15-year-old winger Bruno Davidson.

The Hutchison Vale teenager has been linked with the likes of Wolves, Celtic and Southampton in the past and is regarded as one of the brightest talents for his age in the country.

Here we look at TWO pros and TWO cons if Derby did bring in the youngster...

He has serious potential

Firstly, you have to say that Davidson is a seriously talented player and it's good for the fans that the club are targeting quality, emerging talents.

There is a good crop of youngsters at Pride Park right now and it seems as though Davidson would fit in with ease.

It would be a coup for the club

As well as that, this would have to be considered a coup for Derby when you look at some of the other clubs interested in the youngster.

The fact Premier League sides and high-flying Leeds want to sign the winger shows how good he is and the recruitment team would deserve huge credit if he was to choose Derby over those sides.

He may not be ready for a move

One obvious concern at signing someone so young is that they may not fulfil the potential they have and could take time to adapt to their new surroundings.

This is a huge decision for a 15-year-old and leaving your family, friends and country to move to Derby would be a big call and one that the player may not be able to handle at this stage in his career.

It may block the path for talented youngsters at the club

Finally, Derby may be better trying to develop the youngsters they have coming through themselves right now instead of taking a chance on Davidson.

The academy is flying right now and bringing in the winger would prevent opportunities for someone else.
