Preston North End will be aiming to push on under the guidance of manager Ryan Lowe next season after showing glimpses of promise during the latter stages of the 2021/22 campaign.

The Lilywhites ended the term on a positive note by securing an impressive 4-1 victory over Middlesbrough at Deepdale.

Lowe has already made some adjustments to his squad ahead of the upcoming transfer window as 13 members of the team are set to leave Preston on a permanent basis when their contracts expire.

As well as aiming to keep some key individuals at the club this summer, the Lilywhites boss may decide to cut ties with some more players in the coming months.

Here, we have decided to take a look at two Preston players who face an uncertain few weeks ahead...

Tom Bayliss

Tom Bayliss is currently facing some uncertainty surrounding his future due to the fact that he is deemed to be surplus to requirements at Preston.

The midfielder has been placed on the transfer list by the club after being loaned out to Wigan Athletic last season.

During his time with the Latics, Bayliss only featured on eight occasions in League One and thus it would be somewhat of a shock if they decide to sign him on a permanent deal this summer.

For Bayliss' sake, he will be hoping that another Football League side will be able to offer him the chance to start afresh in the not-too-distant future.

Bambo Diaby

Preston are currently looking to reach an agreement with Bambo Diaby over a new deal as the defender's current contract is set to expire next month.

After joining the Lilywhites earlier this year, the defender went on to make seven appearances for the club in the Championship.

Particularly impressive during his side's clashes with AFC Bournemouth and Cardiff City, Diaby registered WhoScored match ratings of 7.46 and 7.56 in these fixtures.

Diaby will be hoping to reach a resolution with Preston over his future in the coming weeks in order to give himself the best chance of preparing for the 2022/23 campaign.
