Preston have had a decent start to the season but boss Alex Neil may feel that one or two new signings are needed before Friday's deadline.

The Scotsman has built a talented squad at Deepdale but they fell short in the previous campaign and the first four games in the current campaign have shown that they can still improve in certain areas.

However, there could also be outgoings in the coming days and that may dictate what North End need to do when it comes to identifying players to improve the squad.

Here we look at TWO players who could secure a move away this week...

Quiz: Can you name these 10 ex-Preston North End midfielders?

Ben Davies

This is the one that everyone connected to Preston will be fearing.

Davies has established himself as one of the top centre-back's in the Championship over the past few years, which is why he has attracted plenty of Premier League interest.

West Ham are the latest to be strongly linked and whilst Preston would normally be reluctant to sell, the fact the 25-year-old has entered the final year of his contract means they may have to cash in or risk losing him for a cheaper fee in January or potentially for nothing next summer. So, it's something to monitor and a replacement will need to be lined up if a big offer comes in.

Billy Bodin

Another player who could go is Bodin.

The wide man is currently struggling for first-team football under Neil, having failed to come off the bench in the last three Championship games. And, this is nothing new, as Bodin didn't have a lengthy run in the team last season and he hasn't always convinced.

Whether Preston would sanction a move remains to be seen but that could change if a new face arrives of if the 28-year-old pushes for a transfer to play regularly.
