Preston North End will look to continue their fine start to the season after the October international break on Saturday afternoon, when they travel to the Madejski Stadium to take on struggling Reading.

Alex Neil's side currently sit third in the Championship standings, and will be determined to back that up on Saturday in order to show they are in this promotion battle for the long run.

Reading meanwhile will be in their first game since appointing Mark Bowen as their new manager, and the Welshman will be keen to get off to a winning start in the Royals hot seat.

That could make them a dangerous proposition for Preston this weekend, meaning Neil will have plenty to think about going into this one.

Here, we take a look at two things he may want to consider changing ahead of this match.

Recall Darnell Fisher after suspension

Having been forced to sit out Preston's 5-1 win over Barnsley in the final game before the international break through suspension after accumulating five yellow cards, Neil will have right-back Darnell Fisher to call upon again on Saturday, and you imagine he will be keen to use him.

Fisher has already played an important role for Preston this season, helping to form a solid defence for the Lilywhites, and had featured throughout September and early October prior to his ban, meaning Neil should be keen to bring him back into contention.

That would also mean that Alan Browne, who filled in at right-back against Barnsley, would be able to move back into a more natural midfield role against Reading and beyond.

Give Billy Bodin the chance to return from injury

Having been a regular feature in North End's starting lineup during the early part of the season, it has been a frustrating past few weeks for Billy Bodin.

After starting six of Preston's first seven league games, the attacker has since found himself spending a spell on the sidelines through injury, although he now appears to be ready to go again.

Having been named among the substitutes for the win over Barnsley, you imagine Bodin should, with another two weeks of preparation under his belt since then, be confident about stepping back onto the pitch on Saturday.

Indeed, with Reading a side who could be there for the taking following a poor run of form, this could be a decent opportunity for Bodin to make something of a statement were he to make his comeback.
