Swansea City will probably be hoping for a quiet close-season following the completion of their Championship campaign, with the Welsh side having had to deal with losing a collection of key figures last summer.

The Liberty Stadium side enjoyed a strong end to the season which saw them seal a 10th-placed finish last term, but the Swans then lost head coach Graham Potter to Brighton before star players Daniel James and Oli McBurnie also sealed top-flight moves.

Swansea appointed former England Under-17 boss Steve Cooper as Potter's replacement, and the Welshman needed to ensure his squad was fully equipped for the season as the likes of Sam Surridge, Freddie Woodman and Ben Wilmot were all recruited.

The south Wales outfit have enjoyed a relatively successful season given the turbulence of last summer, with Cooper's side now standing a chance of reaching the play-offs as they enter the closing months of the season before the window then re-opens.

Here, we take a look at two transfer scenarios that could unfold at the Liberty this coming summer...

Andre Ayew could leave the club

Ayew has undoubtedly been Swansea's stand-out performer over the course of the campaign after returning from last season's loan spell at Fenerbahce, with the attacker having netted 13 goals in his 34 appearances for the Welsh side this term.

The Ghanaian's excellent showings are bound to attract the attention of potential suitors over the summer, and there is every chance the former West Ham man could be on the move at the end of the term given he has one year remaining on his contract.

Swansea would be looking to re-coup a sizeable fee for Ayew given his consistent form for the club this season, while his extortionate wages mean the Swans would probably be happy for him to leave, even though he has become an asset for the club.

Swansea could line up a permanent move for Freddie Woodman

Swansea appear primed to make a permanent swoop for Woodman this summer following the Newcastle loanee's fine form between the sticks, with Cooper having admitted to Wales Online that he would be keen on signing the 22-year-old.

Woodman's strong performances have established him as one of the top stoppers in the league this term, but it may be difficult for the Swans to tempt Newcastle into a deal given they may have plans to include Woodman in the first-team fold in the future.

This will most probably be one of Swansea's key priorities when the season comes to an end, and it would not be a surprise if discussions have already been held given the Swans are likely to move for Woodman regardless of which division they are in.
