With Nottingham Forest midfielder Henri Lansbury set to complete a  move away from the club over the coming days, attentions will turn to who Forest can replace him with.

The former Arsenal man has developed into the key man for Forest over the last couple of seasons, and with him seemingly heading for the exit door, the Reds will need to act smartly and quickly in the transfer window to get someone in to replace him.

Forest are in a bit of turmoil at the moment. Their captain being sold just one of a number of issues around the club, with manager Montanier's job under threat, and the impending takeover of the club still yet to be confirmed.

However, as always, the show must go on, and whoever the manager is must look to replace Lansbury and use any fee they receive wisely.

With this in mind, we at FLW have taken a look at TWO players who Nottingham Forest could replace Henri Lansbury with...

Gary Gardner

The midfielder has already had a few spells with the City Ground club, but another move to Nottingham would not be off the cards in this window.

Gardner is a tidy enough footballer, and although his second spell wasn't quite as impressive as his first, he would still be a good signing for the Reds.

If Forest could get him back but on a permanent deal, it would at least cushion the blow of losing Lansbury somewhat.

Matty James

One player who Forest could look to tempt is Leicester City man Matty James.

Injuries have robbed the former Man United man of contributing much to Leicester's meteoric rise in the Premier League, and he might be ready to call time on his career at the King Power.

James is a top quality central midfielder who would definitely bring something to the City Ground. Forest fans would be happy to see a player of his quality sign for the club for sure.
