Reading suffered a heavy defeat to Wigan Athletic on Wednesday night leaving the Royals just five points clear of the relegation zone.

Pele joins permanently

Pele has been an excellent addition to the Reading side over the past season. His energy and ability to break up play have been great assets for the Royals.

He's shown that when he's on top form, he can be one of the best defensive midfielders in the division, and he's found more consistency as the season has gone on.

The midfielder is on loan from AS Monaco, so it could be quite hard to sort out a permanent move, which may well cost a lot of money. It will be interesting to see whether the Royals look to bring him in on a permanent deal and if they did how much it would cost.

Pele seems to be enjoying his football and would be an investment that Reading should consider.

Danny Loader leaves the club

The forward has hardly played in this current season and it's now looking very unlikely that he's not going to sign a new contract at the club. With teams such as Manchester United previously interested in the striker, it would be no surprise to see him find a new club straight away.

He's a highly-rated young talent and needs to be playing to continue his development. With no contract extension in sight, it'll be interesting to see who the player joins in the summer.
