Many Nottingham Forest fans will be looking to add some further options to their squad in the last few days before the transfer window closes, with the Reds looking for some extra attacking quality to help them challenge for promotion.

Sabri Lamouchi’s side have already secured a move for Huddersfield Town winger Adama Diakhaby, with the forward signing on loan for the rest of the campaign, while the Reds are also close to securing a move for Strasbourg forward Nuno Da Costa, according to the Athletic reporter Paul Taylor.

Forest are now being linked with a potential move for Hull City winger Kamil Grosicki, with the Reds and Scottish giants Celtic both interested in making a late move for the Poland international, who has scored six goals in 28 league games so far this term, according to the Scottish Sun.

Here then, we take a look at TWO potential knock-on effects that could occur at the City Ground if they do make a move for the 31-year-old…

Joao Carvalho’s potential departure

Were Forest to bring in another attacking player such as Grosicki before the end of the transfer window, it could potentially see Carvalho make a move away from the City Ground, with the attacker already having been finding it difficult to force his way into the side in the last few weeks.

Carvalho has endured a frustrating season on a personal note, with the attacker having been unable to really replicate his form from last campaign, due to a mixture of injury troubles and the form of some of the Reds’ other attacking options keeping him out of the side.

The 22-year-old is being linked with the a potential move away from City Ground, and with Tiago Silva having taken Carvalho’s preferred role of the number ten position in recent matches, the attacker could find it a real challenge to force his way back into the side if Forest bring in another attacking player.

Sammy Ameobi losing his place in the side

Were Forest to bring in Grosicki it would bring a real headache to Lamouchi over who to start in the wide positions, with the Frenchman already having the likes of Ameobi, Joe Lolley, Diakhaby and Albert Adomah to call upon.

Given Lolley has really found some form over the last few weeks, with the winger netting four goals in Forest’s last five Championship matches, including the winner against Brentford on Tuesday night, suggesting it would be a very tough call to drop the 27-year-old.

That suggests that Ameobi could be the one to make way for Grosicki, which would be harsh on the winger who has performed reasonably well since his summer move from Bolton, but Lamouchi could feel that he does not offer as much end product as Grosciki in the final third.
