Lyle Taylor could be involved in a player push cash deal in Nottingham Forest’s pursuit of Jed Wallace according to The Sun’s Alan Nixon.
Taylor has struggled for first team opportunities at Nottingham Forest this season due to Lewis Grabban’s impressive form and the recent addition of Keinan Davis, on loan from Aston Villa for the rest of the season, could see the Montserrat international’s minutes become even fewer and far between.
Steve Cooper has mainly played a sole striker since arriving at the City Ground, which always makes it difficult for the third choice marksman to break into the side, Brennan Johnson has played a lot closer to Grabban in some games more than others and Taylor’s exit could provide additional opportunities for some players within the squad.
Here, we have taken a look at two potential knock-on effects at Forest if Taylor leaves in a deal for Jed Wallace…
24-year-old summer signing Xande Silva has just began to start edging his way into Cooper’s considerations at the City Ground.
The versatile Portuguese forward made his first league start of the season in the Reds’ 1-0 defeat to Huddersfield Town last time out in the Championship.
Silva has played as a central striker previously in his career and posted some impressive goal returns playing through the middle in his youth career.
The former West Ham United man would be one of the main candidates to take on the first team minutes that Taylor would leave behind as a central striker.

False nine options
If Grabban or Davis suffered an injury then Cooper could be forced to consider a false nine system without a senior third choice striker present.
Joao Carvalho and Philip Zinckernagel would be the most appropriate options for this role having played the most as a number ten in the squad.
Carvalho has been out of favour at Forest this season, however if this chain of events was to take place, Lyle Taylor’s potential exit for Millwall could directly contribute to the former Benfica man getting an extended run in the side under Cooper.
