It has been something of a tough start to the Championship season for Coventry City.

With three wins and three draws from their 13 league games so far this season, the Sky Blues currently find themselves one place, but three points, clear of the Championship relegation zone.

Following promotion from League One last season, those associated with the club will no doubt be desperate to establish themselves in the Championship this season, but how confident should they be of doing that?

Here, we've taken a look at two positives, and two sources of concern for Coventry, around their current situation.

Concern: League Placing

Admittedly, Coventry would probably take 21st place in the table for the end of the season now, were you to offer it to them.

However, as things stand, that position they find themselves in gives them very little margin for error, and given you would expect the likes of Sheffield Wednesday and Derby below them to pick up sooner rather than later, things could get even trickier for Robins' men in the not too distant future.

Positive: Performances

While results might not have always been there for Coventry this season, performances have generally been impressive from the Sky Blues, even in defeat.

Even when they shipped four at home to Blackburn, they still looked a threat in that game, and that was despite an early sending off. Indeed, their win last time out over a side who reached the play-offs last season showed what they are capable of, and they will no doubt hope that result can be a turning point in their season.

Concern: Lack of Experience

Looking down Coventry's current squad list, it is noticeable that there aren't too many players who have had game time in the Championship prior to the start of this season.

Given the challenging nature of this league, that is likely to be a concern for Coventry, and one they might want to address in the January transfer window, since they are not going to want any errors brought about by a lack of insight of this level to cost them come the end of the season.

Positive: Time to Adapt

Of course, that lack of experience is something that the club still have plenty of time to solve before it becomes too costly.

As has been mentioned, they could recruit in January, and there are still a number of games where their current squad can become more familiar with the nature of this league, and the way they saw out that win over Cardiff in midweek, could suggest they are starting to do that.
