Plymouth Argyle enjoyed an excellent start to the League One season and will be hoping that 2022 will follow suit.

The Pilgrims still hold a play-off place at present, and whilst they have lost a little ground on the top two places at 2021 came to an end, they will still view automatic promotion as an achievable objective.

Having to contend with a change of management in early December, Steven Schumacher has picked up seven points from his opening four games in charge at Home Park.

With the January transfer window up and running, here, we take a look at two players who could be eyeing up a move away from Plymouth...

Niall Ennis

Whether it be a temporary or permanent move, Niall Ennis currently finds himself in an extreme battle for game time at Plymouth at present.

The 22-year-old has Luke Jephcott, Ryan Hardie, Kieran Agard and Jordon Garrick all to fight with for a starting spot in the club's frontline.

The young forward is an exciting prospect, meaning that the Pilgrims are likely to want to keep him permanently, with a loan move perhaps a good option.

Preston North End are currently setting their sights on Hardie, as per an exclusive FLW report, whilst there has been past interest in Jephcott, suggesting that keeping Ennis at the moment may be another good option.

Ryan Hardie

As mentioned above, Hardie is a player who is on the radar at Preston, with Ryan Lowe considering a deal for his former talisman.

The Scotsman has chipped in with nine League One goals this season and has three assists to his name, but he is certainly not limited to his goal contributions.

With a Championship move potentially in the making, and an opportunity to link up with his former manager, Hardie could be eager for this deal to go ahead.

Equally, he could be content with his situation with the Pilgrims and could be hoping to remain a big part as his side fight for promotion to the Championship themselves.
