Nottingham Forest go in search of three more points this afternoon when they travel to St Andrews to take on a struggling Birmingham City side and a win could lift them into the top six of the Championship.

The Reds defeated Queens Park Rangers 4-0 in emphatic fashion prior to the international break and some supporters have been saying that a large corner has been turned following a somewhat inconsistent start to the campaign.

A trip to face the Blues represents a great opportunity for Forest to put three more points on the board against a team that have struggled to get going this season and languish close to the foot of the division.

Of course there are no such thing as easy fixtures in the demanding league that is the Championship so Forest will have to be at their best to ensure a victory but they certainly have a decent enough squad to go and attach the game.

Football League World writer Lee Clarke looks at two players who will be vitally important for Nottingham Forest if they are to get three points this afternoon.

Ben Osborn

The Forest academy graduate was in splendid form against Queens Park Rangers last time around displaying a breathtaking array of passing to contribute two assists.

Opinion on the youngster is divided among Forest supporters but there is little to deny his undoubted love for the football club and endless work ethic, which often means if he is on form the opposition could be in trouble.

Given that Birmingham fans aren't overly thrilled with their team just now the last thing they can ill-afford to do is let Osborn work his magic on Saturday and he will certainly need to be stopped.

Kieran Dowell

When Forest won at Hull City last month they were ruthless when their chances came along, and given their occasional lapse in defence, that is a vitally important aspect of the Reds' play.

On that occasion the on-loan Everton man grabbed the contest by the scruff of the neck, claiming a hat-trick, and Forest will look for the attacking midfielder to do the same again in the West Midlands.

With Forest often playing Daryl Murphy in attack on his own they always look for the three attacking players lining-up behind the Irishman to chip in with goals and Dowell could well be the star of the show once again today.

Nottingham Forest fans, do you agree that these two players could be potential match winners for the Reds today?  Let us know in the comments below!!!
