With just two weeks remaining in the summer transfer window, there is plenty of business for Blackburn Rovers to do before the market closes.

For the most part, that business should largely come in the form of incomings, with a lack of depth in a number of positions something that must surely be addressed, if the club are to build on their promising start to the campaign.

However, there are some players currently on the book at Ewood Park, who look to be facing a more uncertain future with Rovers, as they look to progress their own careers, in one way or another.

So with that in mind, we've taken a look at two players who could potentially be set to leave Blackburn before the transfer window closes at the start of September, right here.

Ben Brereton-Diaz

Following his prolific campaign last season, and an impressive start to the current one, Ben Brereton-Diaz is of course the stand-out candidate for a move away from Blackburn before the market closes.

Although Blackburn are apparently set to reject the opening bid made for the striker by Nice earlier this week, the French club are said to be optimistic of getting a deal done, while a number of Premier League clubs have also been credited with an interest in the 23-year-old.

As a result, it is likely there will be bigger bids to come for the Chile international that could test Rovers' resolve, particularly given he is into the final year of his contract - making this their last chance to receive a fee for him - and the fact that the player himself would surely relish a chance to play top-flight football.

Dan Butterworth

Another striker who could be on his way out of Blackburn this summer, for rather different reasons, is Dan Butterworth.

Although he was prolific at youth level for Rovers, the 22-year-old has yet to score in 17 senior appearances for the club, and found the net just once in 12 appearances on loan with League One side Fleetwood in the second half of last season.

Butterworth is now into the final year of his contract with Rovers, but has not been given a squad number this season, and didn't even feature in pre-season under Jon Dahl Tomasson.

With that in mind, a parting of the ways would seem to make to sense, so the club can receive some return on the striker, and Butterworth himself can get the game time he looks unlikely to enjoy if he stays at Ewood Park beyond the end of the transfer window.
