Norwich City take on Aston Villa this weekend as they aim to get themselves as high a position as possible this season.

The Canaries will surely be playing Championship football next year but they will feel as though that with a year of experience under Daniel Farke they'll be better placed to challenge for the play-offs.

Certainly, there's been some good signs at times this year and if they can keep their best players and avoid losing the likes of James Maddison in the summer they should be well placed to go again.

However, that is easier said than done and it might just be the case that in losing some of their better players, others might get the chance to suddenly shine.

Let's take a look at a pair of players that might get exactly that opportunity...

Ben Godfrey has done well out on loan this year and has become a key member of Shrewsbury's League One promotion challenging side.

You get the sense, then, that regardless of what happens with the Shrews this year he'll get a chance to feature in the second tier and the Canaries might decide to keep him at Carrow Road.

For sure, he looks capable of growing into an astute player.

Remi Matthews has shone out on loan for Plymouth who have gone from relegation candidates in League One to play-off hopefuls in a matter of months.

Matthews' performances in goal have been a big part of that and with Angus Gunn potentially not going to stay past this summer, there's a chance he could feature in the Championship for the Yellows.

Michael McGovern will have something to say about that though.
