Millwall are currently in eighth place with the play-offs a realistic possibility, although promotion is probably a step too far.

Neil Harris' side have outperformed expectations currently as they are already safe and are likely to finish in the top half at the very least, which is remarkable considering they came up through the play-offs.

He is likely to bolster his squad in the summer because they don't have a lot of depth, although he has been able to use that to foster a strong collective identity which has allowed them to grind out tough games.

However, he should look internally for reinforcements because he has some promising players out on loan who could work well on the periphery of his squad next season.

Nelson has been on loan to both Yeovil and Chesterfield this season and has done well at both. With this playing time, he has been able to continue his development.

There is likely to be a place in the first-team next season because Jason Shackell loan finishes at the end of the season. The experienced defender hasn't been given a lot of opportunities, but he has acted as back-up for the centre-back position.

At 22-year-old, Nelson needs gametime to develop, so it would make sense for him to act as a back-up, but he's likely to be given more chances than Shackell who was purely there to give the team some depth. It just depends on whether Harris has been impressed enough to offer a new contract.

Twardek has been on loan at Carlisle United in League Two this season, and has made 10 appearances so far. The Canadian international has already made his debut for Millwall this season with two brief appearances, and he has plenty of potential.

Ben Marshall has been on loan at the club from Wolves, so there is a chance that he might not return to the Lions which would give the chance for Twardek to be back-up in wide areas.

He is similar to Nelson in that Harris has to make a decision on offering him a new contract, but they are a side with little squad depth, so it wouldn't be a surprise to see him offered a new contract.
