We take a look at TWO players who Birmingham City could target in the January transfer window from the Premier League, who would fit in well with their team.
Find out who they are, below….
Gilmour has been impressive when he’s been involved in the Chelsea first-team this season, and could be heading for a temporary exit from Stamford Bridge in the New Year.
It seems highly unlikely that he’ll be getting in the Chelsea starting XI on a consistent basis this term though, with Frank Lampard often opting to start the likes of Mason Mount and N’Golo Kante ahead of Gilmour.
He’s already shown glimpses of his ability in his cameo appearances for the Blues, and could benefit from regular game time in the Championship.
Birmingham would be foolish not to consider making a move for the Chelsea midfielder in the New Year.
Emile Smith Rowe
Smith Rowe spent last year’s campaign on loan with Huddersfield Town, and caught the eye with a number of impressive performances for the Terriers.
The Arsenal winger finished the 2019/20 season with () goals and () assists to his name from his () appearances for the club, before returning to the Gunners.
But the winger has struggled for consistent game time with the Arsenal first-team this season, and it certainly wouldn’t come as a surprise to see him loaned out in the January transfer window.
Birmingham could be the ideal destination for him as well, as the Blues need a player that can create chances for the likes of Scott Hogan going forward.
The Blues have only scored 14 goals in the Championship this season, so a player with the creative ability of Smith-Rowe should certainly be on their transfer wish-list in the New Year.
