Birmingham City have endured a miserable season so far, with Aitor Karanka's side languishing just four points above the relegation zone.

Therefore, the rest of the transfer market could be crucial for Blues, and the Spanish boss is surely going to want a few new faces through the door at St. Andrew's.

Whether that happens remains to be seen, but as well as additions, there could be departures. It will free up space in the squad for Karanka, and also ensure the wage bill will drop to pave the way for new signings.

Here we look at TWO players who could be on the move before the deadline...

Birmingham City quiz: Can you name the club’s top goalscorer from the last 13 seasons?

David Davis

There are plenty of midfielders at Blues, which means that Davis is way down the pecking order.

For whatever reason, the boss hasn't give the former Wolves man a chance, and he doesn't even make the matchday squad. So, even though his deal is up in the summer, a swift January exit would appear to suit all parties.

The 29-year-old had a positive start to life at Birmingham, but a fresh challenge is now needed.

Dan Crowley

There won't be many issues if Davis leaves, but Cowley's departure may cause more debate among the fan base, because some feel he has warranted more opportunities this season.

However, it's apparent that Karanka isn't a fan of the attacking player, and it's another area of the pitch where Blues are stacked for options.

The former Arsenal youngster is another who doesn't get in the squad, so he has to go elsewhere to get his career back on track and try to fulfil the undoubted potential he has.
