Swansea City will now be solely focusing on a Championship play-off push in the second half of the season following their emphatic 5-1 defeat to QPR in the FA Cup third round.

Steve Cooper named a weakened side for his side's trip to the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium on Sunday afternoon, but the Swans' second string failed to impress during a disappointing display against the Rs.

There were a number of Swansea players who would have been aiming to stake their claim for a regular spot in the side ahead of the South Wales derby next weekend, but there were few who would have put themselves in contention following the loss.

This means that these players now look set for further time out of the first-team fold in the second half of the campaign, and some of these may now start pushing for a move away from the club this month in order to increase their minutes.

Cooper will not want to take too many risks in upcoming matches with his side firmly in the race for a play-off spot, with this limiting the opportunity for fringe players to make a breakthrough going forwards.

Here are two Swansea players who may be pushing for a move away from the club this month...

Kristoffer Nordfeldt

Nordfeldt enjoyed his most successful season at Swansea last campaign as he made a total of 25 appearances under Graham Potter, but Freddie Woodman has been Cooper's firm number-one choice between the sticks this term.

This means Nordfeldt has been limited to solely cup appearances for the Liberty Stadium outfit since August, and the fact he conceded five goals against QPR suggests he will not be breaking into the league side anytime soon.

Therefore, the Sweden international should now be pushing for a move away from the club as he aims to increase his playing time, and Swansea would surely have no objection to him ending his four-and-a-half-year stint in South Wales.

Barrie McKay

McKay struggled to establish himself in the starting line-up under Potter last term, and he has been used even more sparingly since Cooper's arrival at the club, with the current Swans boss handing him just four league appearances this season.

The 25-year-old is capable of operating in a number of positions within Swansea's attacking unit, but Cooper has not trusted the Scotsman on many occasions in the Championship this campaign, with his four outings all coming since late November.

The former Nottingham Forest man will surely not be happy with the amount of playing time he has received this term, and the fact he struggled during the FA Cup defeat means Swansea will have no problem with showing him the exit door this month.
