Leeds ran out comfortable 2-0 winners over Ipswich Town in midweek but Marcelo Bielsa was dealt a blow as one of his key defenders was forced off with an injury.

Gaetano Berardi has started both games against Blackburn and Ipswich since his return from injury to the side.

But the 30-year-old was substituted after just 27 minutes in the win at Elland Road with a muscular injury, and it leaves Marcelo Bielsa with a selection headache in defence heading into their game against Nottingham Forest at the weekend.

Pontus Jansson is expected to return to the side, having missed the win over Ipswich through suspension, but the absence of Berardi could prove to be a big blow to Bielsa's side, with the central defender having already made eight starts this season for the Whites.

But which two players will be trying to force their way into the starting XI to replace Berardi?

Find out who they are here...

The 20-year-old is one of Leeds' most promising youngsters and Bielsa could call upon Pearce to start in their crunch match against Nottingham Forest this weekend.

Pearce made his first league appearance of the season as a substitute for Jack Harrison in the win over Ipswich on Wednesday.

He did also feature towards the end of last season's campaign and he will be hoping he can earn a run in the side this season under Marcelo Bielsa.

Dallas is another player that could come into the side, with a reshuffle in defence needed if he was to feature for Bielsa's side.

The Northern Irish international has made just two starts this season but did replace Berardi in the win over Ipswich and he will be hoping he can nail down a spot at LB, even with the potential return of Barry Douglas.
