Reading have enjoyed an upturn in form recently, winning four of their last five games in all competitions.

The latest victory came in the Carabao Cup as the Royals won 4-2 away at League Two side, Plymouth Argyle.

José Gomes made 11 changes for the fixture, and eight Reading youth products started the game. It was also a return to action for Jordan Obita, the left-back had been injured for just under two years, but started the cup clash as captain.

With several youngsters starting in the victory, many Royals supporters will be hoping in the coming years that they'll follow in the footsteps of players such as Omar Richards and Tom McIntyre and get their chance within the first-team.

With the loan window still open for the lower divisions, here are TWO players that Reading should think about loaning out before September 2nd...

Akinwale (Akin) Odimayo

The centre-back hasn't yet been on loan during his time at the Royals but now might be the perfect opportunity.

Having made his debut in midweek at Plymouth, the 19-year-old performed well with José Gomes complimenting the two centre-backs' ability to win their duels.

With Reading currently using a formation that utilises three centre-backs, Gomes may want to keep Odimayo incase of injuries.

However, for his development, a loan would be very beneficial. League One clubs would be perfect for the player, who could strengthen himself up whilst competing at a good standard of football.

Michael Olise

The Frenchman burst onto the scene for Reading last season making his first start for the club in a fixture at Stoke City. His tricky feet and close ball control makes him a player that can get the crowd off their feet.

At just 17-years-old, he is still a very raw talent, but having signed a three-year contract at the club in the summer, Reading know that he isn't going anywhere.

He had performed well during pre-season, and also made a substitute appearance when the Royals were defeated by Sheffield Wednesday on the opening day.

A loan move would be good for Olise.

It would give him the chance to toughen up and become stronger making him more suited for the Championship.

He has great ability but Reading must not rush the youngster.
