Millwall could line up against Hull City without a recognised striker in their whole matchday squad.

Steve Morison was forced off at the weekend with what looked to be a reassurance for his hamstring injury, while Aiden O’Brien was stretched off in the draw with Bristol City last Saturday.

With the Republic of Ireland forward now out for what looks to be a prolonged period, that means the Lions have no strikers fit.

The pair join Tom Elliott and Lee Gregory who are both missing still, and Tom Bradshaw who is out for the season, in the treatment room.

Elliott and Gregory’s injuries shouldn’t keep them out too long, but with O’Brien’s situation unknown and Bradshaw, a certainty to miss the rest of the campaign, back up in January is a must.

Millwall chief executive Steve Kavanagh said Harris has money to spend in January if needed and with that update provided, and the recent bout of injuries mounting up, he could well move to add to his squad in the new year.

And if he is to add to his current crop, here are two players Millwall must go and out and sign after their recent attacking injury crisis.

The QPR striker is still only a bit-part player at Loftus Road and could be looking for a move away to get more regular first team football.

Millwall are long-term admirers of the tall, powerful striker and he could well be the player to replace Steve Morison and Tom Elliott amid their injury concerns at present.

With money available, it could well be a move that might come off, and one that would certainly be welcome by many of the Lions’ supporters.

Having started for Sheffield United the other week, Conor Washington could be back in favour at Bramall Lane, but that could well be a false dawn.

He could soon find himself out of the side, as he played the final 28 minutes in last weekend’s defeat to Leeds.

His contract runs out in the summer, and with Millwall’s injury worries piling up in the forward areas, Washington could well be a given constant starts for Neil Harris, should be he signed.

Similar in size, stature and style to Lee Gregory, he could be a player that would suit the style of play the Lions have.

Able to play on the left, too, he could be an option to replace Aiden O’Brien who could be out long-term after being stretched off at the weekend.

The 26-year-old can play in more than one position, potentially making him an attractive proposition for the Millwall manager in the new year.
