The January window is now less than two months away meaning all EFL clubs will be starting to think about potential signings and departures.

Luton Town will be no different, with Nathan Jones' side currently just two points outside the top six.

The play-off race looks wide open this season and the Hatters will know that a positive January window could be the difference between making the cut and falling short.

It's not likely to just be players arriving at Kenilworth Road when the transfer market opens, however, and we may see some depart.

With that in mind, we've highlighted two players Luton may look to sell or loan out in the January transfer window...

Dion Pereira

Dion Pereira saw his loan move to National League side Yeovil Town cut short in late October, with Jones telling Luton Today the 22-year-old "didn't feel right" and therefore wasn't going to get the most out of it.

The Luton boss has suggested that they wanted to send Pereira to a League One or League Two team but were unable to secure a deal before the end of the summer window meaning the National League was the only option.

The winger doesn't seem to be a player that is deemed ready to be around the Hatters first team week in, week out but Jones said in October that "he needs games", so it looks likely the Championship outfit will look to agree a loan deal when the January window opens.

Avan Jones

21-year-old right-back Avan Jones has been part of a matchday squad this season but is yet to make his senior debut, suggesting that cutting his teeth elsewhere could do him good.

With Luton playing, for the most part, in a system with wing-backs, the manager can be flexible with his cover for first-choice on the right flank James Bree.

That may mean he feels comfortable sending Jones out on loan in the upcoming transfer window.
