It has been another season of transition for the Nottingham Forest faithful to contend with but there is now hope that the club can go places under the stewardship of Aitor Karanka.

The Spanish boss went out and signed 10 new players during the January transfer window and it seems likely that the manager will do the same this summer, as he searches for the winning formula at the City Ground.

Forest have not had a great deal to shout about this season and after years of disappointment, the latest manager will be undoubtedly looking to improve vastly next time around.

Given that Forest have had pretty much two different squads of players this season, picking a Player of the Year could be a bit tricky. Nonetheless, Football League World writer Lee Clarke looks at two potential candidates for the end of season gong.

The academy graduate has performed admirably in a number of positions this season and he would be a deserving winner of the Player of the Year award for 2017/18.

Osborn is currently operating at left-back in Aitor Karanka's team and even if the manager does go and splash the cash in the summer, it would seem that the Spaniard fancies Osborn as a valued member of his squad.

Cash made his first appearance of 2017/18 during a 0-0 draw with Leeds United on New Year's Day and he hasn't looked back since.

The youngster has put in a string of impressive performances out on the right wing and he looks set for a very bright future in the game.
