Huddersfield's season was rocked yesterday afternoon, with David Wagner being strongly linked with the manager's job at struggling Wolfsburg, in the Bundesliga.

The Terriers have made enormous progress under Klopp's prodigy having never reached the top half of the Championship before this season, where they currently sit fourth as we hit the halfway point of the season.

Wagner was seen as the lynchpin to this season's success and so to lose him would be a monumental blow to Huddersfield's season as they chase a shock promotion to the Premier League.

The attraction of a top job such as Wolfsburg in his home country could be too tempting for Wagner, and it the club may now have to hunt for a new manager to carry on the good work.

Here are TWO managers who Huddersfield could look towards in order to maintain this magnificent first half of their Championship season if Wagner departs...

Ryan Giggs

Of a similar calibre to David Wagner in the sense that he's never really had a job in management before now, and needs a solid, stable club to start his career with, which Huddersfield would be a great opportunity for.

It's widely believe that Giggs is chasing a Premier League club to start with, but he may soon find that the clubs who are in the sort of position where they're sacking a manager, may look to someone with more experience.

Huddersfield will almost be as good as it gets for Giggs and he'd be silly to turn down such a good opportunity.

Nigel Pearson

The former Leicester boss is almost the opposite of Giggs and Wagner in that he's vastly experienced, especially in the Championship, and despite failing to make an impact at Derby would certainly be the envy of the majority of Championship clubs.

His fabulous and explosive counter-attacking football would certainly be a change of pace from Wagner's patient build up play, but he's proven his ability at winning title's with Leicester.

Pearson would be a manager of great pedigree for Huddersfield and would be a fine replacement for Wagner.
