Although Reading are currently unbeaten in their last five league matches, two of them have been draws and that means they've allowed promotion rivals Huddersfield Town to catch and overtake them, meaning the Royals have slipped down to fourth.

Jaap Stam's team most recently came up against Dean Smith's Brentford at the Madejski, and they managed to secure a major 3-2 win, despite being 2-1 down with 15 minutes to go.

The man management is very appraisable this season with a number of positive signings and they haven't failed to impress.

The club face two massive clashed with Huddersfield Town and Brighton in their next two league fixtures, and will be hoping to secure points against two main promotion rivals.

Only five players are out-of-contract this summer, which means Stam hasn't got too much work to do in the campaign's end but here are TWO that Reading definitely need to tie down to new deals.

Danny Williams

The United States of America international signed for Reading in the summer of 2013 on a four-year contract and has been an ever-present in the first-team squad since his arrival, but his deal is set to expire this summer.

Danny Williams has appeared for Jaap Stam's side on thirty occasions this season, with three goals and one sending off to his name.

The 27-year-old has been a vital part of the team this campaign and it would be idiotic for Reading to release him considering everything he's done for the club since his arrival.

Dominic Hyam

Dominic Hyam was one of 15 players offered extended deals at Reading last summer, and although he has little to show for it in a blue and white hooped shirt, he's definitely worth being offered another new contract this year.

The 21 year-old defender was shipped out on loan to League Two outfit Portsmouth but his time there expired in January, and returned to the Madejski Stadium without making a single competitive appearance for Pompey.

His only game this season came for Reading in their Checkatrade Trophy defeat to Yeovil Town last month.

Despite the little match time he's getting, there is potential and it would be a massive mistake to let him go at the end of the campaign.
