It is an important clash for both sides tonight, as Neil Warnock's Cardiff City take on Millwall at The Den, with new Lions boss Gary Rowett watching over his new side from the stands.

It was announced yesterday that Rowett secured the manager's job in South-East London, but will take charge of his first match against his old side Stoke on Saturday, leaving caretaker Adam Barrett to take the reins for one final time.

Despite that, 11th placed Cardiff City will be looking to spoil the party, as the Bluebirds look to pick up their first away win of the season. In order to do that, the South Wales side will have to exploit Millwall's weaknesses.

Here are two things about Millwall that Cardiff can use to their advantage to get the win on their travels that they so desperately crave:

Weakness: Millwall's overall form is poor

Despite positive signs being shown in their recent games against Brentford and Leeds United respectively, The Lions have won just one of their last ten games in all competitions, which is not a statistic that Millwall fans will take kindly to.

That explains why Adam Barrett's men find themselves in 17th position in the table. The players will be looking to turn that around and impress their new manager, who will already be thinking about his starting lineup against Stoke.

The Den is usually a tough away day for any side, but Cardiff can use the poor confidence that the home side has at the moment to their advantage.

Weakness: Disappointing disciplinary record

Having already picked up two sending offs so far, it seems that Millwall have a problem with their disciplinary record this season, and Cardiff could use that to their advantage.

The Lions sit second in the discipline table, behind Sheffield Wednesday. Along with the two red cards, the side has also amassed 25 bookings, which is a large figure with just 12 league games played. Four Millwall players have picked up three bookings (Jed Wallace, Murray Wallace, Ben Thompson and Jayson Molumby.)

Those stats may be playing in the minds of Adam Barrett's players, as five bookings results in an automatic one-game suspension. Therefore, they might not go as hard into important challenges as a result.
