Millwall have struggled at the start of this new season having won just two of their 12 matches this season.

Neil Harris’ men are adjusting to heightened expectations at The Den after an impressive campaign last time out.

With the club moving forward, there will be the need for players to improve and adapt as the Lions look to not only consolidate in the second-tier but to push on, too.

New players will arrive, and some will go, with others having the necessary ability to be able to progress with the club.

The ones that go will be deemed not good enough for the long-term future of Millwall as they look to become a regular fixture in the Championship.

If they aren’t good enough for the Lions, then it could be considered that they will not be enough to sustain a career in the second-tier at this current time.

With that said here are two Millwall players who realistically look destined for League One.

Having burst on the scene back in 2014, Fred Onyedinma has not done much else to warrant a consistent start in the Millwall first-team since being back in the Championship.

Having done reasonably well during their promotion season, last term he frustrated the Lions fans for the vast majority of the season with his stop-start style of play and his sloppy spells in possession.

He signed a new deal back in 2017, the winger has failed to progress and is currently on loan at Wycombe Wanders in League One.

At present it is hard to see him finding a way back in the first-team and realistically, he looks destined for a future in League One without the Lions.

Since arriving at the start of last season on a free transfer, Ryan Tunnicliffe has been predominantly a backup player.

Tunnicliffe is in the final year of a two-year deal and has only made 28 appearances since his arrival.

All of his appearances have come by way of teammates being injured and suspended, and once they have returned to the first-team fold, he then reverts to the bench once more.

Millwall have better options, and at times the midfielder looks like his level is in the third-tier, compared to the other options Neil Harris has at his disposal.

Tunnicliffe looks like a player destined for a potential stint in League One.
